Guiness world record holder emerges in Jos Plateau state!
In 2023, we saw Hilda Baci break the Guiness world record for longest cooking time with 93 hours 11 minutes. It was no easy feat. Standing that long and cooking up delicious meals, and handling the mental challenge it took to deliver on a promise, and ensuring all rules of the Guiness world record body was observed while cooking in class and elegance. Her accolades are much deserved!
Two weeks ago Tunde Onukoye of Chess in Slums initiative sat in the freezing temperature of New York Times Square to break the Guiness world record of longest Chess marathon for over 60 hours, this record truly touched our hearts that alongside playing to break the world record he was raising money for children at home in Nigeria to access quality education and leave the slums.
Yesterday, another record was broken by Leshar Dachor who painted artificial nails for 72 hours with only a few minutes in between to rest and recuperate. Thanks to the good people of Jos who showed up in their numbers to encourage a young artist and change maker.
The city of Jos is known for its plethora of talents and birthing such resilient and resourceful young people who go ahead to do great things is quite remarkable. It is with immense pride that we acknowledge her hardwork and dedication in achieving such a daring record. It’s remarkable to witness such zest in young people who change their little corner of the world with their talent.
Warm regards, COAL
