COAL Newsletter, February 2026

From the newsletter

Hello,

We want to thank you for something that rarely gets celebrated: trust. Trust is what builds change that lasts. Because of your belief in us, we’re proud to share three important milestones with you.

Our 2025 Annual Report

This past year was about deepening our efforts in communities, supporting education at the grassroots, creating space for young creatives, and strengthening partnerships designed to last. It’s not just a report. It’s what consistent, community-rooted work looks like, especially with you on our side.

2026-2030 Strategic Plan

We’ve also set our direction for the next five years with a new bold five-year strategic plan focused on expanding access to foundational learning, unlocking creative pathways for young people, and strengthening youth voice and systems for lasting change. Leveraging local expertise and partnerships designed for measurable results, the strategy positions COAL to scale what works and invest resources where they matter most.

Big News: We’ve Been Selected!

So pleased to share that COAL has been selected for the 3rd cohort of the New Africa Fund (NAF) Africa Impact Fundraising Grant Program.

From 1st March 2026, we will begin a fundraising campaign to raise a minimum of $5,000 unrestricted funds, which will be matched dollar-for-dollar by NAF, unlocking a total of $10,000 in support of our mission.

This is a significant milestone for a small nonprofit like ours and we can only do this with your help. We wanted to let you know first because for every $1 donated will be matched 1:1. Over the coming weeks, we’ll share more about what your doubled gift will support.

Mark your calendar for March 1st and simply reply this email if you would like a gentle reminder when the campaign launches.

Let’s build the next chapter together!

With gratitude, From all of us at COAL
